Surgery appointmentsdoctor

Routine Surgery appointments are made for a ten minute period. If you think that your consultation may require longer, please book two appointments. The surgery uses an electronic calling system.

When it is time for your appointment your name will appear on the electronic board and identify which clinician and in which room you are due to be seen.

If you have problems with your hearing or your sight please inform the reception staff and they will notify you when it is time for your consultation.

Please be advised that one appointment is 10 minutes.  If you feel you need a longer appointment please inform the reception staff on calling as the Doctors can only cover one medical issue per appointment.  The 10 minutes includes time for the Doctor to write up your consultation after you leave and prior to the next patient being called in.

Emergency Consultations

One doctor, by rota, will run the Emergency Surgery Mon - Fri 0830 am to 11.00am and from 15.30 pm. You should attend the Emergency Surgery only if you have an urgent problem and must see a doctor the same day; you may have to wait some time (in turn).

Telephone Triage

All emergencies are triaged by the Duty Dr. Your name will be placed onto the list and you will be called back to assess your condition.  If deemed necessary you may be required to come into the surgery for further evaluation of your symptoms.  Please note that sick notes and on-going care will not be discussed during a triage call to patients.

Appointments for the Emergency Surgery are bookable only on the day of the surgery.

Urgent problems will always be seen on the same day, but not necessarily by your own doctor. Please do not abuse this facility.
