Chronic Disease Management
The Practice Nurses run the following clinics:
Health Promotion Clinics
- Contraceptive Services
- Child Immunisation on Tuesday mornings
- Adult Immunisation ('Flu, Pneumonia) for 'At Risk' patients
Individual appointments are offered with the Practice Nurse for New Patient & Well Person examinations and may be booked at Reception between 9am - 6pm.
Contraception:
Please discuss your requirements with your doctor by appointment. We also offer IUD and Implant fitting/removal services. Pill checks can be with the nurse.
Midwives Antenatal Clinics
As arranged by your Midwife
Minor Surgery
Minor surgical procedures can be carried out at the surgery. Please arrange these with your doctor
NHS Health Check
To attend the NHS Health Check Clinic (age 16-74), ask the receptionist. There is no charge.
Foreign Travel Advice
Ask at reception at least 6-8 weeks before you travel so that your immunisation needs can be assessed and appointments booked with the Nurse at appropriate intervals. We provide a simple form for you to complete about your health and your journey.
The Practice Nurse will research your records and prepare individual advice regarding immunisations and other methods of protection against common diseases. Book your first appointment at least 6 weeks before departure, at any Nurse’s clinic.
Some vaccines and other medicines are not available on the NHS. An up-to-date list of charges is available at reception.
New Patients
Patients (over five years of age) who have just registered with a doctor are invited to attend the Practice Nurse for a "New Patient Consultation".
For the 16-74 Age Group
If you have not been seen by a doctor in the last three years, and would like a "Health Assessment", please make an appointment to see the Practice Nurse.
Hearing Tests for Children & Children's Immunisation
Should be arranged with the Health Visitors.
Child Health Assessments
These assessments are carried out on Tuesday afternoons: they should be arranged with the Health Visitors.
Asthma/Spirometry/Diabetes Clinics
Asthma Clinics are by appointment with our asthma-trained Nurse's Michelle and Annette . You will need to bring with you your current inhalers for review.
Michelle and Annette are also trained to offer patients Spirometry testing.
Michelle and Beverly are the Practices Diabetes trained Nurses.
The Practice Diabetic Clinic is run on Thursday afternoons from 3.45 - 5.45pm. We also run Nurse-led clinics.
Blood Pressure Monitoring
We have a BP machine in a screened area in Reception which patients may use to take their own blood pressure. The printed recording can be handed to the Receptionist for entry into their clinical record.
Non- NHS Medical Services
Services which are not part of the NHS, including private insurance forms and medical examinations for Life Assurance, can be arranged with the receptionist who can tell you the fee involved. All fees are to be paid in full before any action or work will be carried out, Please allow up to 10 working days for the forms to be completed by the GP.

NHS Dentistry
NHS GPs do not provide dental care. Patients are advised to register with an NHS Dentist. Dental registration needs to be renewed every fifteen months. The partners would like to endorse the use of fluoride toothpaste to prevent tooth decay. A dental helpline is available on: 0845 0508345
